Leonid I. Katolik, M.D., a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, returned to his hometown in October 2007 to join the world-renowned physicians of The Philadelphia Hand Center, PC and The South Jersey Hand Center, PC. He came to us from the University of Washington School of Medicine where he was Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery. While in Seattle he was also a consultant for hand and upper limb trauma at Harborview Medical Center, the nation’s leading center for orthopaedic trauma.
Dr. Katolik, a native of Philadelphia, attended the University of Pennsylvania as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar. He graduated from Hahnemann University School of Medicine receiving the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award, the Orthopaedic Surgery Award, and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Katolik completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St.Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Dr. Katolik went on to sub-specialty training for Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Harborview Medical Center, before being invited to stay on as faculty. In Seattle, WA he helped to care for the University of Washington Huskies as well as patients referred from the entire Pacific Northwest.
Dr. Katolik specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of upper limb disorders, with particular interest in reconstruction of the injured or degenerative wrist and elbow. He has lectured nationally on these topics and has contributed generously to the literature. Dr. Katolik seeks to deliver technologically advanced care in a compassionate and caring manner for all of his patients.
